In Memoriam
Nabor Galvez was shot and killed at his childhood home on December 13th, 2020 at 10:30 p.m. He had just returned home from visiting his girlfriend when he was brutally murdered in his backyard. Nabor had just turned 24 years old on November 29th and had his whole life ahead of him, but was taken too soon due to gun violence. Nabor dedicated his life to his studies, his family, and his friends. He was a proud graduate of California State University, Northridge where he majored in business law and aspired to be a lawyer to advocate for his community. He was a loving son who dedicated his time during the COVID-19 pandemic supporting his mother’s flower shop. He was a charismatic, optimistic young man who had many goals and aspirations. Nabor was the light and the rock for his family and to everyone who has been lucky enough to know him. He was always so positive and never failed to bring a smile to those around him – he was caring, selfless, honest, and always the person who saw the positive side of every situation. Our organization is founded in honor of Nabor and aims to carry on his memory and his legacy by working to eliminate violence and heal communities within Los Angeles from the trauma and grief produced by the violence of poverty.
